What does an offensive coordinator do?

An offensive coordinator leads the design and operation of an NFL team's offense. The coordinator helps build the playbook, prepares weekly game plans, works with position coaches, and develops ways to attack the next opponent.

Many offensive coordinators call plays during games, although some head coaches retain that responsibility. The coordinator also helps manage personnel groupings, situational strategy, and adjustments made during a game.
