How many rounds are in the NFL Draft?

The NFL Draft has seven rounds. Each club ordinarily begins with one selection in every round, although trades, forfeitures, and compensatory picks change the final number and ownership of selections.

The first round is held on Thursday, rounds two and three on Friday, and rounds four through seven on Saturday. The Draft has used different numbers of rounds during earlier periods of NFL history.
