When Should I Draft a Quarterback?

In a typical one-quarterback league, draft a quarterback when the value fits your board rather than following one mandatory round. Managers can often wait because many usable starters are available. An elite quarterback may justify an earlier pick, while a deeper position can support a later-round approach.

In Superflex or two-quarterback leagues, quarterbacks should usually be drafted much earlier because most teams need two starters and the supply is limited. League size also matters: quarterback scarcity becomes more important as more managers compete for the same NFL starters.

Before drafting, compare quarterback tiers with the running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends available at your pick. If several similar quarterbacks remain, waiting may be reasonable. If the final player in a trusted tier is available, selecting that quarterback can prevent a major drop in projected opportunity.
