How many teams are in each NFL division?

Each NFL division has four teams. With eight divisions in the league, that accounts for all 32 NFL clubs.

A team plays each of its three division opponents twice during the regular season, once at home and once on the road. Those six division games make divisional competition especially important in the standings and playoff tiebreakers.
