What does straight-up pick'em mean?

Straight-up pick'em means selecting which team will win the game, regardless of the margin. If the chosen team wins, the pick is correct; a betting point spread is not applied.

This differs from against-the-spread pick'em, where the favorite must outperform the listed spread for that selection to win. Pools should separately define how an official NFL tie is scored.
