How Fantasy Football Playoffs Work
Fantasy football playoffs are an elimination tournament for the teams that qualify through regular-season standings. The playoff bracket commonly begins before the final week of the NFL regular season.
Seeds and byes
Teams are seeded according to league rules. Higher seeds may face lower seeds, and the strongest teams may receive a first-round bye. Matchups can last one or two weeks depending on settings.
Managing playoff lineups
Waivers, injuries, matchups, and changing NFL roles still matter. Bench depth should support the players most likely to start, and future matchup planning becomes more valuable because each loss can end the season.
Confirm the bracket, reseeding rules, championship week, and tiebreakers in advance. NFL teams resting players late in the season can affect fantasy availability.
