How Fantasy Football Trades Work

A fantasy football trade is an exchange of rostered players between managers. One manager sends a proposal, and the other can accept, reject, ignore, or counter it.

Evaluating a trade

Compare how the deal changes each starting lineup, bench depth, positional needs, bye weeks, and injury risk. A two-for-one trade is not automatically better for the side receiving two players because roster spots and starting quality matter.

League processing

Accepted trades may process immediately, after a review period, or following commissioner approval. Some leagues allow veto votes intended to address collusion, not ordinary disagreements about player value.

Communicate clearly and make offers that address the other roster's needs. Check the trade deadline so a useful agreement is not submitted too late.
