What Are Bye Weeks?
A bye week is a scheduled week when an NFL team does not play. Fantasy players from that team are unavailable and should be moved out of active lineups.
Planning for byes
Check bye weeks while drafting, but do not pass on major value merely to avoid overlap. During the season, look ahead so you can add replacements before waivers become competitive.
Roster decisions
Star players are usually held through a bye. Marginal kickers, defenses, or bench players may be dropped if the roster cannot hold a temporary replacement. Avoid dropping a valuable long-term player for one week of convenience.
Bye-week pressure depends on league depth and roster size. A legal starting lineup is the immediate goal, but preserve season-long value whenever possible.
