Do sacks count as negative passing yards in NFL statistics?

In the NFL, sack yardage reduces team net passing yards. Individual passing yards remain separate from the yards lost on sacks.

For example, 280 passing yards and 18 sack yards lost produce 262 team net passing yards. A table labeled passing yards can therefore differ from one labeled net passing yards without either being wrong. Check whether the statistic describes the passer or the team.
