What is a hurry?

A hurry describes a pass rusher making the quarterback release the ball sooner or move away from his intended passing position. Contact is not required.

For example, an edge rusher may force a quick throw before reaching the quarterback. The pass can still be completed. Hurries are charted judgments, so use the provider's definition when comparing them with hits, sacks, or total pressures.
