What is a passing touchdown?

A passing touchdown credits the passer for a touchdown produced by a completed forward pass. The receiver may catch the ball in the end zone or carry it there after the catch.

On an ordinary touchdown pass, the thrower receives a passing touchdown and the scorer receives a receiving touchdown. The team still scores one touchdown worth six points. A successful two-point conversion pass is recorded as a conversion, not an additional passing touchdown.
