Tarpley earned all-state and all-league honors as a senior. His team won the WPIAL Class AAAA championship and finished as state runner-up, and he was selected for the Big 33 Pennsylvania-Ohio game.

College Career
Four seasons in Vanderbilt's secondary.
Tarpley saw action as a true freshman in 2014. He finished his Vanderbilt career with 123 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Against NC State in the Independence Bowl, he recorded 12 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
